Hi! I teach 5th grade in Sahaurita, Az. I’ve been teaching for 15 years and the most my district has ever provided is $100 but in reality it’s closer to $80 because the funds also have to cover shipping and taxes.
I spend near $1,000 on my students every year and any thing off my wishlist would be a great help.

I am a kindergarten teacher in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been teaching for 17 years and am shocked at how much I need to start the year this year! We had to toss a lot out during Covid because of Covid protocols so it’s back to square one again for me. Ugh!
I teach in your typical neighborhood elementary school that has approximately 500 students and represents 26 different languages. It is a magical place where kids live to learn, grow and blossom.
Thank you for the opportunity to post my list. Every little bit helps! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2611I3G3BY1H1?ref_=wl_share

Delaware – Emily Marinelli
This is the first year I’ve made a list. I’m teaching 6th grade language arts and social studies. My group of students this year is unique to our district – they are the first group of 6th graders to participate in the district’s Spanish Immersion program. They’ll learn math and science with their Spanish teacher for half of the day, and come to me for the other subjects. I am excited to work with this group because I also learned in a Spanish Immersion program as a child, so it feels like coming full circle to me. Our intermediate school teaches students in grades 4-6. They come from a diverse background; we have farmer’s kids, people whose parents commute to cities like Wilmington and Philadelphia, and everything in between. A third to one-half of the school qualify for free and reduced lunch. During the pandemic (I don’t know if it will continue this year) both breakfast and lunch were provided free to all students. Last year, the school went one-to-one, meaning every student is provided with a Chromebook for school, and it has been both fun and challenging adapting my teaching to keep them engaged with the lesson and off youtube/spotify.

I am a substitute in FL so every day can be a different day so I carry lots of things for the kids from class to class and we sometimes stream videos of what they are studying to give them a break from lecture teaching. It’s great to be able to teach where every assignment is a different platform and we get to improvise. At the beginning of school we gather items to hold back for the kids that come in without a backpack and or school list items so they don’t start out the year on a down note.

I am a first grade teacher in Cumming, GA! I primarily teach student who have English as their second language. I am so grateful for people like you who recognize the hard work that teachers do everyday! Even though the 2020-2021 school year was difficult, the past school year was even harder. Having student back in the building who had NEVER been to school because they were virtual or homeschooled their kindergarten year and students who lacked serious social skills because they have been separated from other children, it was definitely one for the books! I have done a few trainings this past year and want to incorporate so much more social/emotional learning into my class! Going back to the basics with these babies like making eye contact when you talk to each other and how to greet each other in the morning! All of those important skills which have been lost!

I am an 8th grade teacher at Eli Whitney Elementary located in the inner city of Chicago in a great community, La Villita (Little Village). I was raised in this community and felt I had to teach here since this is where my roots are. While this community is rich in culture and everyone knows everyone it is also a rough neighborhood to have to grow up in. Many of my students have lost loved ones and I too have lost students to the senseless shootings that occur in the streets of Little Village. Therefore, schools in the community are their safe space sometimes and so I try to make my classroom as inviting and my lessons as rich as possible. Thank you once again for this opportunity.

I teach precalculus and oversee a peer tutoring program in Mason, Ohio. This will be my 15th year at this district. I love what I do, but there is always a limit to what I can do with my students strictly due to lack of supply funding. These supplies will be especially helpful in organizing the paperwork and files associated with recruiting student tutors and matching them up with tutees that need assistance. We offer tutoring to hundreds of students each semester during all bells of the day and after school. These supplies will also be extremely helpful with providing interactive lessons in my precalc classes!

I am a self-contained special education teacher in Rock Hill, SC. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in one single classroom. These students stay in my room all day except for lunch and electives. We have buddies in the general education setting who come to our room to hang out with our kiddos and practice social skills with them. Our classroom focuses on job skills and life skills to ensure they are prepared for life after school. We have students with autism, mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, down syndrome, as well as the occasional student with behaviors. It’s such a rewarding job and I come home exhausted every day. Some days I come home frustrated wondering how I could have managed a specific behavior differently or prevented a meltdown. No matter how crazy the day before is, I can’t wait to go back in the morning. Different NOT less

I’m a school counselor at an alternative school serving kindergarten through adult students in rural East Tennessee. Many of our students come to us from backgrounds of poverty and/or trauma and all of our students need a little extra support. We’re a hybrid alternative school. Some students are kiddos with behavioral issues. Some students have anxiety and struggle to attend school in a regular education setting. Some students are high school kids who for one reason or another might not graduate if they don’t come to our program. Some are adults who have come back years after dropping out of school to earn a diploma. Their needs are so varied, but we do all we can to help. Whatever it takes. These resources will help us as we work to meet their individual needs. Additionally, I’ve never had my own office (I’m in the school’s main office), and I think this is the year I’ll be given a space! I’m so excited! Some of the things on my list are to help furnish that area so that I can finally offer students the confidentiality in counseling they deserve. Any little bit helps—whether deodorant and toothpaste for students, counseling resources, or office materials. Thanks so much for helping me love on my students!!–

I teach 7th & 8th grade kids in central Texas! One hour from Austin & Houston.
We are a Title 1 school district, meaning highly economically disadvantaged population is served.
Most of my kids come without supplies and when the office runs out; I purchase.
Since Covid, lunches are free – so I didn’t pay secretly for those who are hungry last year.
I teach Reading Lab. My clientele has not passed our state reading test, so I reinforce comprehension and fluency. Many kids tell me their parents never read them a story and they love when I read to them. I just can’t imagine being 13 years old and no one has curled up with you and read you stories.
So, I do! And I see them imagine, dream and escape to a happy place.

I am a Social Emotional Learning Specialist at an economically disadvantaged bilingual campus in Central Texas. My position was a brand new position that began last year out of a need to help students with their social emotional growth due to the effects of COVID. Since we are a new position on campuses, we don’t have a budget to work with and are starting from the ground up to build our “bag of tricks” to help with all the students on our campus from kindergarten through 5th grade. Students come to me with all kinds of needs from needing self-care items to a snack. I am a school counselor/teacher at an elementary school in Austin, Texas. I work with kindergarten through 5th grade teacher social emotional learning. While I work in one of the more outstanding districts in Austin, I am still outfitting my classroom with my husband and I’s money (I have a spending limit and usually, cannot get everything my students need). Right now, my job is under a lot of scrutiny (some parents don’t see the value in SEL; I don’t just teach lessons, I create teachable moments of interaction for my students to become better human beings. How could any parent be against that!?). This is my second year at my school, and my first year to have a classroom to myself. I’m looking to fill it with comfort items, games, art supplies, anything and everything my students will need to be successful in the SEL classroom.

I teach 2nd grade at the Milwaukee German Immersion School (MGIS). We’re a public school, but an immersion school (one of 4: German, French, Spanish, Italian in the city of Milwaukee). That means we teach in the target language (German for us). All of the Wisconsin State Standards and the curriculum are the same at MGIS as they are at any other school or district, but we teach it in German. K4-1 grade speak/read ONLY German and in 2nd grade we begin teaching English Reading and English Spelling. It’s truly remarkable to see these little children, in a Milwaukee Public School, conversing in German!

this will be my fourth year as a School Counselor at Sweetwater Elementary School! We are a low-income community that has approximately 90% free/reduced lunch for students. I serve about 300 3rd and 4th grade students! Anyone who knows me knows that my students and being their counselor is everything to me! As their School Counselor, all 300 students come to my class for “Wellness with Welden” each week in addition to serving students for individual and group counseling. Being such a small community with such great needs, funding for my classroom supplies is so extremely limited. And as you can imagine, with having all students in my room each week, supplies go quickly! I do my best to help students reach their goals and see the potential they have within themselves by addressing their social-emotional and academic needs. I always tell my students that since I don’t have children of my own, I have 300 kids! I truly love each of them like they were my own, and I just would love for them to have access to as many resources, books, and activities as possible to make school feel like a place where they are loved and belong! It would mean so much to me if you could share my classroom wish list to help alleviate some of these needs. Thank you for being such a positive light to the Instagram community!

I recently switched from teaching special education (autism) for the past 13yrs to kindergarten. I left more of my previous materials in that classroom, bc I felt guilty a new teacher might not 1. Pick up the job, or 2. Not have the resources to give them what they need.
With that said my classroom now is filled with low income (scholarship students) and I really need more supplies to make my classroom engaging and stimulating- especially for (non existent) STEAM curriculum.

I had the most loving 2nd grade teacher that always motivated me to be better. I always thought if I could be that person for a child then I have done my job. What I love most about teaching is MY STUDENTS! To see my students have that “lightbulb moment” or see a struggling student overcome a challenge is why I do what I do.

I am a school counselor in a 5/6 building. The mental health of our students remains our number one priority after the last few years. These supplies will help us continue to support the social and emotional health of students.

I teach at a school that truly has a lot wide range of students that come from all backgrounds, some that are well off and some that live in a historic freedmen community and trailers that sometimes don’t have normal utilities like water and electricity. I’d love to provide them the supplies we need and also make classroom more cozy.
