I have what I like to call, “very complicated hair”. It’s thick, wavy, full of volume and unruly on all counts. Because of this, I spend a significant amount of time (and money) on my hair. I am always trying out new products, and switch out my shampoo/conditioner on the regular. Below are the products I am using RN
Shampoo
I use a different shampoo every time I wash my hair, the above are the mix of shampoos I currently have in my shower. I read that you should switch up your shampoo to eliminate residue. Not sure if thats true, but I think it add some “spice” to my shower routine 🙂
All of these shampoos keep my hair hydrated, clean (duh) and shiny. While these options are on the higher side, I also use “drug store” shampoos like Suave and Pantene. I also LOVE Savannah Bee products (made from real honey!) I discovered their shampoo Body wash and lotion
Pureology – Kerastase – Caviar – Savannah bee
Conditioner & Hair Masks
Pantene is one of my favorite conditioner brands out there. I love their Smooth & Sleek conditioner as well as their 3 minute miracle conditioner
Next Up.. hair masks – highlighting my hair, coupled with my flat iron, curling iron and all other tools, cause my hair to become super dry and brittle. I used a hair mask about every other week to keep my hair soft and silky. My hands-down FAVORITE mask is Alterna-Caviar’s Moisture Masque followed by Wella – Oil Reflection. Both of these masks are amazing, but at a higher price point. It’s a 10 and Trader Joe’s Mask are two of my favorite less expensive masks. Most people don’t realize that TJ’s has great personal care products.
Pantene – Wella – Alterna – It’s A 10
Purple Products
I have been highlighting my hair for years and just recently was educated on the power of “purple”. Purple shampoo and conditioner are key for your hair in-between colors. This goes for natural and processed hair types. It will keep your blonde -blonde and not brassy or dull.
Shampoo – currently using It’s a 10 as well as Clariol’s Professional Shimmer (reco’d by my hair stylist) and for conditioner, L’Oreal’s Ever Pure Blonde
Leave In Products
Few of my favorites include: Nexxus Leave in conditioner (works wonders) or TreSemme’s Keratin smooth (do not use both of these products together, will weight hair down), which is great to protect your hair pre flat iron/curler. I use this coconut milk or my favorite Moroccan Oil to smooth my hair down, get rid of “whispies” and also help de-tangle post shower. If you’re blonde, or have light hair – make sure you buy the “light” version of Moroccan Oil, otherwise it can add a tint to your hair.
Hair Spray & Dry Shampoo
I only wash my hair once a week (or every 5-6 days). In-between those days, dry shampoo is my best friend. I SWEAR by Bastiste, i have the large bottle and a travel size for when I am on the road.
Moroccan Oil hair spray is my favorite based on the scent it leaves in your hair. I could be on day 5 of washing my hair and one spritz of this stuff and you can’t tell! A less expensive hair spray favorite of mine is Pantene air spray, it’s light weight, yet holds strands in place.
Organizer – I don’t have a ton of space in my bathroom to hold all of these products. I LOVE this beauty organizer, the shelves are adjustable, making it easy to organize heights based on the products/sizes.
