It took me deep into my adult years before I realized the benefits of investing in quality makeup brushes. I cringe at the years I spent using the brush or applique that came with my blush, eyeshadow etc. (you know what I’m talking about!).
If you’re going to invest in brushes, you need to make sure they last. Washing brushes on the regular is UBER important people.. another tidbit I wasn’t in-tuned with until I was an “adult”. I love this brush cleaning pad. The suction cups on the bottom of the pad stick to your sink (under the faucet) so they don’t slide while you clean your brushes. I also swear by using just water and dawn soap to clean your brushes. Also below, while the most expensive brush I own, also the one I can’t live without. It blends & contours BB Cream & foundation and smooths uneven skin tones and works magic a normal brush cannot. A less expensive option can be found here
Artis Brush Set – Dawn Soap – Brush Cleaner Mat
A few of my other favorite brushes include a set of brushes for bronzer/powder, blush and eyeshadow – this is by far my favorite brand of brushes. They’re not only affordable, but also good quality.
Next is a flat brush used for cream, foundation and overall blending. Similar to the larger blender brush above, this brush is great for under eye & cheek blending. I use this foundation brush to even out my skin tone on my eye lids and under eye. Last is a brush i use for blush, but can be used on wet & dry products. Also a super inexpensive brand to check out.
