I bought a condo 2 years ago this April, it was the most “adult” thing I have done to date. Anyone who has gone through the first time home ownership experience can relate. It SOOOOO stressful, and the amount of money (hard earned money you have been saving for almost your whole life) is gone with a blink of an eye. I waited a while to buy my first home. I wanted to make sure I had enough money for the house, renovations AND furniture. I don’t recommend this for everyone, it’s a lot to do at once and by yourself (high five to all my single ladies who bought a house on their own). Prior to moving into my condo, I had a variety of miss matched furniture and decor. It was a combination of hand-me-downs from my parents, things I bought off craigslist, HomeGoods and pretty much every kind of furniture you have to assembly yourself with tools created for elves. The first piece of furniture I purchase was this sectional. It wasn’t cheap, and I remember having heart palpitations after the sales lady swiped my credit card. The reality is, nice furniture that will last a lifetime – isn’t cheap (I sound like my mother here). This couch was an investment, but 2 years later, I don’t regret it. It’s the most comfortable couch, completely customizable, the material is stain resistant (I have the performance everyday linen in Ivory) and can fit myself, Finley and all of my friends at once.
My couch is in the performance everyday linen material in ivory, with a box edge cushion with down blend.
I waited about a year before I bought furniture for my breakfast nook. I have an open concept as far as kitchen, living & “dining” room goes, with a small space for a dining room table. It took me months to find a round table that was the right size (not to big and not too small) and i finally found THIS table paired with THESE benches to make up the perfect breakfast nook!
